ding dong pro 8 is dead

on aug. 4 2010 prop 8 the law the prevented same sex marriage in the state of California was rejected. while it has been struck down it will not lead to the same sex couple getting married right away. the chief judge of the Federal District Court in San Francisco, Vaughn R. Walker is standing his ground on his decision, pending appeals by proponents of Proposition 8, who seem confident that higher courts will listen and favor their position.
“Proposition 8 cannot withstand any level of scrutiny under the Equal Protection Clause,” writes Judge Walker. “Excluding same-sex couples from marriage is simply not rationally related to a legitimate state interest.” For those that support proposition 8 say that the choice that was made defied the will of the people of California, and that is can really be an issue come the Nov. midterm elections. personally i feel that this is one of those things were you won the battle but the war isn't over. this is a point of conflict for me b/c i am a Christian and im gay. while i do believe that the bible is God's word and that marriage is a sacred thing. I don't fully understand how 2 women getting hitched has anything to do w/ it? (lol, maybe im slow)
